Includes a proprietary flexible coupling to connect the prop shaft and transmission instead of a traditional rigid coupling, and uses an external thrust bearing to take the load off the transmission. Allows for shaft misalignment up to 7 degrees and reduces the load on the transmission, increasing service life and decreasing long term maintenance costs. Also allows easy, in-the-field decoupling the transmission and prop-shaft for towing purposes (if the vessel were to be towed along by another vessel). Minimizes vibration and noise.
